Frequently Asked Questions About
Electrowarmth® Fitted Bedwarmers (Heated Mattress Pads)
Question:
What is the difference between an ElectroWarmth® fitted bedwarmer and an electric blanket?
Answer:
An electric blanket is used as a covering. The ElectroWarmth® fitted bedwarmer (heated
mattress pad) is used under the bedding like a fitted sheet or mattress pad. You sleep ON
it, not UNDER it. The ElectroWarmth® fitted bedwarmer (heated mattress pad) attaches
directly to your mattress, and is covered up by your normal bedding. ElectroWarmth®
fitted bedwarmers (heated mattress pads) are much more energy efficient than an electric
blanket because of the way they are used. Your covers hold in the heat that rises from
below. The heat from an electric blanket rises from above you, and most of it escapes into
the room.
Question:
My home heating costs are high, will an ElectroWarmth® fitted bedwarmer (heated mattress
pad) cost me more for electricity?
Answer:
No. In fact, with an ElectroWarmth® fitted bedwarmer (heated mattress pad), you can turn
down the heat in your home during the night and still sleep comfortably. By turning down
the heat in your home, you will not only save on heating fuel costs, but your furnace
blower, refrigerator and freezer will also run less in a cooler house. This will help
reduce power costs.
Question:
How do I know what size ElectroWarmth® fitted bedwarmer (heated mattress pad) I need?
Answer:
The model number of each ElectroWarmth® fitted bedwarmer (heated mattress pad) indicates
its width. All ElectroWarmth® fitted bedwarmers (heated mattress pads) are sized to fit the
bed indicated. For example the model M38 F measures 38 inches wide by 74 inches long, and
can be used for a twin sized mattress or on one side of a split king-sized mattress. A
model 38FL measures 38 inches wide by 80 inches long and a model 38FXL measures 38 inches
wide by 84 inches long to accommodate longer bed lengths.
Question:
What do the ElectroWarmth® fitted bedwarmers (heated mattress pads) look like?
Answer:
The ElectroWarmth® fitted bedwarmers (heated mattress pads) very much resemble a fitted
mattress pad. They are made of white material, and are about 1/4 inch thick. They are like
a fitted sheet and have extra cloth at the head of the bed that allows the warmer to cover
the entire mattress. They have elasticized corners to hold them in place. ElectroWarmth®
fitted bedwarmers (heated mattress pads) are quilted around the heating wires. This is
done in such a way that you do not feel the wires when you are laying on them.
Question:
Are ElectroWarmth® fitted bedwarmers (heated mattress pads) washable?
Answer:
Yes. ElectroWarmth® fitted bedwarmers (heated mattress pads) are machine washable. Since
the bedwarmers are used underneath your bed coverings, there is usually not much need to
clean them on a regular basis.
Question:
Are they safe if something is spilled on them (or a child wets the bed)?
Answer:
Yes. The heating element wires within the bedwarmers are shielded. In the case of bed
wetting, however, there is also a cleanliness issue. We recommend covering the
ElectroWarmth® fitted bedwarmer (heated mattress pad) with a rubber sheet such as can be
purchased at numerous department and discount stores. The rubber sheet will help keep the
ElectroWarmth® fitted bedwarmer (heated mattress pad) clean and will reduce the need for
frequent washings.
Question:
How does the ElectroWarmth® fitted bedwarmer (heated mattress pad) stay in place under
the covers?
Answer:
The ElectroWarmth® fitted bedwarmer (heated mattress pad) is very similar to a fitted
sheet in that it covers the entire mattress and is held in place using elasticized corners
that reach around the corners of the mattress.
Question:
Can I use an ElectroWarmth® fitted bedwarmer (heated mattress pad) on an adjustable bed?
Answer:
Absolutely! The ElectroWarmth® fitted bedwarmer (heated mattress pad) models work very
well. In fact, a large proportion of our customers have adjustable beds and are very
satisfied with them.
Question:
Does the Comfort Control temperature control make a clicking sound when you change the
temperature setting?
Answer:
No. The temperature control is very quiet and transitions smoothly and soundlessly from
one temperature setting to another.
Question:
What sort of warranty is there?
Answer:

it will be repaired or replaced with a new one. After the year warranty has expired,

Are the heating wires in an ElectroWarmth® fitted bedwarmer (heated mattress pad) uncomfortable as well?
Answer:

are quilted into the padding of the warmer in order to make them undetectable when you are
sleeping.

Question:
What do you recommend for young children or elderly people?
Answer:
We recommend that the person using the ElectroWarmth® fitted bedwarmer (heated mattress
pad) be able to adjust the temperature control and be able to know what to do if they are
too warm. We do not recommend the ElectroWarmth® fitted bedwarmer (heated mattress pad) for
children under the age of 5.
Question:
Can I use an ElectroWarmth® fitted bedwarmer in my camper or trailer?
Answer:
Yes, if you have regular 115v ac power connections. We have other models (T & K series)
that are specifically designed to use the cigarette lighter in an RV or truck. The "T"
models come with only the 12 volt connector, the "K" models come with a regular electrical
outlet plug as well as an adapter to allow it to be plugged into the cigarette lighter.

Question:
I am a Massage Therapist, can I use an ElectroWarmth® fitted bedwarmer (heated mattress
pad) on my massage table?
Answer:
No, because none are made to fit massage tables. However, we produce a warmer specifically
for use by Massage Therapists. This warmer allows the therapist to lower the room
temperature for a cooler working environment, while keeping the client comfortable and
relaxed. These may be seen and purchased on our other website

Question:
I have a large mattress (Queen or King) and my partner likes to be cool and I like to be
warm. Can you help?
Answer:
Absolutely! Our larger models are available with dual comfort controls. This allows each
person to select the temperature they want. If one person would not use their side and you
have two separate mattresses combined to make a larger bed, you can also use a smaller
model such as an M30FL for one side of a Queen, or and M38FL for one side of a King. We
also offer non-fitted models which pin to the mattress and can be used for one side of a
Queen or King single-mattress bed. These may be seen and purchased on our other website
www.electrowarmth.com.
Question:
I am a truck driver and I have to keep my engine idling while I sleep in order to stay
warm. Do you have anything that I can use to stay warm in my truck bunk without having to
keep my engine going all night long?
Answer:
Yes! Our "T" models (non-fitted) where designed with truck drivers in mind. The cord is
10 feet long which gives you plenty of length to reach from the cigarette lighter socket to
your bunk. This allows you to sleep comfortably without having to idle your truck. The
warmer will pay for itself in just a couple days in fuel savings alone. You will also be
cutting down on air pollution from the exhaust fumes from your truck. Our bunk warmers are
in use all over the United states by many trucking fleets. These may be seen and purchased
on our other website www.electrowarmth.com.
Question:
My feet are always cold at night, but I don't really want heat for my whole bed. Can
